Wrigley Claydon, the well-known firm of Oldham solicitors, are again backing Oldham Rugby League Club with sponsorship in 2010 as they have done for the past few years.

The Wrigley Claydon logo is carried on the sleeve of the Roughyeds’ home and away jerseys – testament to the support given to the town’s rugby league club by the town’s oldest legal firm.

Solicitors in the area since 1795, Wrigley Claydon strive to provide a high quality legal service to the people and businesses of Oldham and surrounding areas.

John Porter, of Wrigley Claydon, said: “We’ve been around a long time, and we are proud to have been Oldham RLFC’s solicitors for more than 20 years, going back to the former club when it was at Watersheddings.

“Our association carried on when the new club was formed in 1997, and we are happy not only to be continuing in that role but also to be associated with the club in the form of shirt sponsors.

“We go back a long time together, and as the club’s solicitors we wish Roughyeds well both on the field and off it during what will hopefully be a very satisfying season.”

Rachael Marsters, the Roughyeds’ commercial manager, said the club was proud to include such a long-established and highly respected legal firm as Wrigley Claydon in the club’s 2010 sponsorship portfolio.

She added: “We are grateful for the support of a firm that has been serving the people of Oldham for more than 200 years. It’s amazing to think that Wrigley Claydon had been on the scene for 80 years before the original Oldham club started playing organised rugby in the 1870s.”
