CHRIS Hamilton has confirmed that if Oldham win promotion they won’t be allowed to play at Whitebank because the ground doesn’t meet minimum standards for the Kingstone Press Championship.

Speaking on BBC Radio Manchester, the Oldham chairman said his preferred option would be to stay at Whitebank but that was out of the question because the ground would have to be fit for purpose by October 31 to meet an RFL deadline.
He added: “Part of my role as club chairman is to make sure that if we earn promotion we are able to accept it.
“This is not a new process for us because we’ve had to do it a number of times in recent years so we are merely doing what we’ve done before.
“We have had to put a number of options to the RFL, but at this stage I’m not able to discuss them publicly because of confidentiality issues involving us, the RFL and other parties.
“Everyone will assume its going to be SportsDirect.com Park, but you never know.”
