Roughyeds are delighted to announce that Sean Whitehead has rejoined the club’s board to work alongside chairman Chris Hamilton.

Sean, who stepped down from the board nearly two years ago because of business and family matters, agreed to rejoin last week and the club is now in the process of completing the necessary paper work.

Chris and Sean are friends of many years, having served 11 years on the board together from the formation of the new club in 1997 until Sean chose to take a step back in 2008.

Since then he has retained close links with Chris and with the club whose offices are adjacent to his business premises at Lansdowne Roofing Supplies. Aged 44, he is the managing director.

Said Sean: “In many respects I have never really left. I have always kept very close connections and I have always had a very deep interest in the Roughyeds. I am no longer under the pressures I was under when I stepped aside in 2008 and I know there is a lot of work to do at the club, not least on what we hope will be our new home at White Bank Road.”

Said Chris: “Sean and I have been close friends for many years and I am delighted to welcome him back on to the club’s board. We are hoping to resolve the ground situation by setting up home in the borough at White Bank Road.

“There is a considerable amount of work to be done there and both Sean and I felt the time was right for him to come back on the board.”
