Wednesday night will see the club finally get its 2012 season under way.

After numerous postponements, both home and away, the disruption of the last few weeks should finally come to an end as we play host to last seasons Championship Grand Final winners Featherstone Rovers.

The match will be the first of this years Northern Rail cup competition and although facing a formidable task against a ream who have made no secret of their desire to win this years cup the Roughyeds are raring to go.

With temperatures having now risen significantly in the last couple of days and maintenance work being carried out on the pitch the club have no concerns over the match going ahead with kick off at 8pm.

Head Coach Tony Benson has revealed that he will play both Neil Roden and Lucas Onyango both of whom have not played in either of the clubs two pre season matches through illness and injury.

Both players are key members of the side and Benson feels that it is important to have their experience in tomorrow nights line up.

Another player who has not yet featured due to work commitments, Paul Noone, will not be selected tomorrow but will be in the line up for Sundays long trip to South Wales Scorpions.

Others missing out on the Featherstone game include Shaun Robinson (hip) and Mark McCully (knee) who both picked up injuries in the Seat Cup game at Whitehaven.

The rest of the 17 will be finalised at training tonight.

The social club will be open before and after the game and Featherstone are still expecting to bring over a healthy away following and Roughyeds are hoping their fans will turn out in numbers at the club launches its 2012 campaign with a real mouth watering tie against the top team from last season.
