Try Reading

Date published: Monday, November 4, 2013

Thursday 7 November, 6:30-8pm

Oldham Library and Lifelong Learning Centre

Oldham Libraries are looking for Roughyeds or rugby league fan with a passion that they would like to share. Archive materials or any personal memorabilia will be used to create a short, dramatic piece of writing that encompasses people’s memories and enthusiasm.

The free writing workshop with local award winning playwright Cathy Crabb is part of a public libraries campaign – the Try Reading project. The project celebrates and promotes the sporting event of the year – Rugby League World Cup 2013 and at the same time encourages people to read more and to have a go at writing and drama. The project is being funded with an award from the National Lottery supported £6 million Grants for the arts libraries fund by Arts Council England.
