“Tough test expected”

NEIL Roden has warned his Oldham under-20s to expect a tough test against Cumbrian Regional Academy at Craven Park, Barrow tomorrow (2.30pm kick off).
Roughyeds have confirmed the game will be at Barrow RLFC and NOT at Whitehaven as previously billed.
The Cumbrians are coached by former Barrow and South Wales Scorpions boss Dave Clark, who has also had close associations with player development at Wigan Warriors.
Said Roden: “They are a strong, workmanlike side — tougher, I think, than Midlands Academy, who pipped us at Nottingham in our last game.
“We’ll need to be at our very best.”
Only two over-age players are allowed in games against regional academy sides and on this occasion Oldham’s ‘oldies’ are Sam Singleton (21) and Phil Bickerstaff (22).
New boy Luke Kavanagh, who plays at Hopwood Hall College, makes his Rougheds debut on the wing.
Team: Singleton; Bickerstaff, Partington, Buckley-Mayall, Kavanagh; Dempsey, Hughes; B Roden, Ball, R Joy, A Joy, Turner, Fitzsimmons. Subs: Flanagan, Sargeant, Boardman, Barratt.
