Hooker.   Born Wigan 26-12-79, making him a little more than three months older than his cousin Neil. Squad number 25. Sponsored by OJT Communications. Initially joined Oldham as conditioner, but came out of retirement to help out in a crisis at Dewsbury in the summer of 2009 — and has played ever since. Club captain in 2010, he was elevated to assistant coach in 2011, handing over the duties of captaincy to his cousin Neil, the team’s stand-off.

Martin started every single game in 2010, the forerunner of triple responsibility in 2011 in which he was appointed as conditioner, assistant coach and joint vice-captain with Marcus St Hilaire.
