Spindles Town Centre Shopping

RESURGENT Roughyeds, one of only two teams still unbeaten in Co-operative Championship 1, head for the two-match Easter programme buoyed by yet another significant shirt sponsorship deal covering the 2010 season.

Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre is the latest commercial concern to put its weight behind the town’s professional rugby league club . . . for the third year in a row.

The difference this time is that the Centre will get increased exposure from a revamped deal that sees its logo and title take up a prime position on the front of the jersey as opposed to the sleeve in 2008 and 2009.

“We are delighted to be backing Roughyeds once again, this time as part of a new agreement which provides additional shirt sponsorship,” said Spindles manager Mike Flanagan.

“We’ll also be looking towards embracing the public and the local community by having the Roughyeds squad in the Centre on promotional events during the year so that players and shoppers can mix and mingle.”

Club chairman Chris Hamilton said Roughyeds and Spindles had cemented a first-class partnership over the past two years and he was delighted that they were to be partners again in 2010, albeit in a slightly different form.

“Spindles are big supporters of the club,” he added, “and everyone at Roughyeds will look forward once again to working with Mike (Flanagan) and the Centre.”
