With football fever hitting boiling point, ladies in Oldham are being treated to a different kind of macho mayhem thanks to Asda in Chadderton.

Customers are being given the chance to win a personal shopping trip with Oldham Roughyeds’ finest, Marcus St Hilaire and Dave Ellison, where they will be escorted through the aisles with a prize of £100 in their pocket to spend, before having a cup of tea and a chat in the Asda café.

Rugby favourites, Marcus St Hilaire and Dave Ellison who play centre and prop for the Roughyeds will be official shopping slaves for the lucky winner as they browse the aisles for a new outfit or two from George and pamper products from the health and beauty ranges. Plus, they will be able to get up close and personal with the players in the Asda café as they grab some half time refreshments.

Asda Chadderton has recently taken pitch side sponsorship with the club which this year secured its very own home ground for the first time in 13 years.

Store manager, Mark McBurnie says: “We’re pleased to be able to support Oldham Roughyeds this year. At Asda, we pride ourselves on our commitment to the community around us, and we actively look at ways we can put something back to help the town thrive.

“The World Cup is not for everyone so we thought this would help ladies – or men – get away from it all and treat themselves at the same time! Whether it’s girls with a passion for fashion wanting to fill a suitcase before heading off to the sun, mum wanting to stack the shelves for a barbeque or simply someone with an eye on the star prize, this competition should be a lot of fun for shoppers!”

Customers wanting to enter the competition are to hand in their Asda receipt with their name, address and contact telephone number written on the back to the customer service desk in store by July 12th. Receipts will be available to collect after the closing date of the competition.

There will also a £50 voucher up for grabs for two runners up.
