Sheffield away in Ladbrokes Challenge Cup

OLDHAM’S fourth round Ladbrokes Challenge Cup tie away to Sheffield Eagles is likely to be played at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster.

Homeless since Sheffield City Council closed the Don Valley Stadium, Mark Aston’s Eagles have already this season beaten London Broncos (40-6) and Batley Bulldogs (28-16) at the Keepmoat in Kingstone Press Championship games.
Roughyeds expect the tie to take place at the same venue on Sunday week, March 22, but details will be confirmed later.
Their luck was out last night when they were drawn to play away against one of the strongest teams in the Championship, currently lying third behind Leigh Centurions and Bradford Bulls with three wins from four games.
Their only defeat was at Dewsbury Rams on the first day of the Championship season, but they have since enjoyed a resounding win away from home, 20-6 at Whitehaven.
“It will be a tough test and interesting to see how we do.” said chairman Chris Hamilton. “We’ve certainly nothing to lose.”
Coach Scott Naylor added: “We could have had a better draw, but we just have to get on with it.
“In any case, our focus this week is on Sunday’s trip to Barrow. We’ll start thinking about Sheffield once the Craven Park tie is out of the way.”
Draw: North Wales v Doncaster; Dewsbury v Newcastle; Featherstone Lions v York City Knights;
Barrow v Halifax;  Bradford Bulls v Workington Town; Normanton v Batley; Leigh Miners Rangers v Oxford; Swinton Lions v Rochdale Hornets; Sheffield Eagles v OLDHAM; Whitehaven v Featherstone Rovers; Leigh Centurions v London Broncos;  Univ of Gloucester All Golds v Hunslet Hawks.
