Season-tickets now on sale

DESPITE soaring expenditure on players, Oldham RL Club are selling 2015 season tickets at prices which offer the best discounts for several years.
Compared with match-day prices, up by £1 for adults and concessions, season-ticket fans can save up to £29 across 11 home games in the new Kingstone Press League One.
Fans buying a seat for the season before December 23 (£125) will effectively pay for only nine of the 11 games at Whitebank against new club Coventry Bears, London Skolars, Gloucester All Golds, Gateshead Thunder, North Wales Crusaders, Oxford, York City Knights, Rochdale Hornets, Keighley Cougars, Barrow Raiders and Swinton Lions between April 12 and September 6.
Season tickets for standing fans (£110) work out at the equivalent of just short of two free games.
Since the end of last season, Roughyeds have signed, or re-signed on new deals, 17 players, including some who were on full-time contracts at other clubs last season. More signings are still to come.
The inclusion, in a restructured third tier, of five clubs who were in the Championship last season has inevitably raised the bar on player expectations and demands.
Said chairman Chris Hamilton: “In putting together a good squad which we believe will be up there challenging, we are battling against ever-increasing costs in a fiercely competitive market.
“It has to be a balancing act when it comes to what we can spend and what we can reasonably recoup at the turnstiles, but we have tried to keep things in perspective by putting up turnstile prices by only £1 and offering season-ticket discounts which are significantly better than in previous years.
“We are still one of the cheapest clubs in the division.”
Match-day prices: adults £12, concessions £10, under-16s £3, plus £2 transfer to seats across all categories.
Season tickets (11 league games): seats, adults £125, concessions £110; standing, adults £110, concessions £95, under-16s £20, including away games.
Concessionary prices include students under-18 in full-time education with appropriate ID.
These prices are valid until December 23 and existing seat holders have until 5pm on Friday, December 12 to claim the same seats.
First-time buyers can ring the club on (0161) 624 9630 ext 70552 or post full details and cheque to Oldham RLFC, c/o Oasis Academy Oldham, Hollins Road, Oldham OL8 4JZ.
Added Hamilton: “Rival clubs have been trying to pick off our players in a tough and highly competitive market place.
“We are battling against stiff competition, but we’ve kept the players we wanted to keep and we’ve brought in quality newcomers.
“George Tyson and Gareth Owen, who were full-time at Salford last year, are big signings for us, as is Adam Neal, who has played 45 games in Super League.
“We haven’t finished yet and there will be another major announcement to be made soon on a positive move relating to the playing side of the club.
“Season ticket sales provide a vital source of revenue during the close season and we are asking fans to back us on this wherever they can.”
* Having already announced a pre-season friendly at Barrow on February 15 (2pm), Roughyeds have now additionally agreed to play Swinton Lions at Sedgley Park on Sunday, February 1 (£10 adults, £5 concessions, £1 under-16s).
* Gloucesster All Golds have moved seven home games from Sundays to Saturdays, including Oldham’s game at the Prince of Wales Stadium, which will now be played on Saturday, June 27 (3pm kick off).
