Season tickets

FANS are reminded that the deadline is fast approaching for getting maximum benefits from season-ticket purchases. Anyone contemplating buying one needs to do so before 5pm this Wednesday (November 30) at the Roughyeds’ office in Lansdowne Road, Chadderton (tel: 0161 628 3677) which is open daily (Saturdays and Sundays excluded) from 9am to 5pm.

Although match-day prices have been pegged at last year’s levels, season-ticket sales have been significantly reduced even taking into account that this coming season there will be only 11 guaranteed home games (nine in the league and two in the Northern Rail Cup) compared with 12 last year.

Said chairman Chris Hamilton: “Business on season-ticket sales has been steady which probably represents comparative success in the current financial climate. We understand that times are difficult and it’s a question of trying to strike a balance between doing what’s needed to provide a team that fans want to watch while at the same time considering the interests of both the club and those who pay to support it. It isn’t easy.

“There is still time, up to 5pm on Wednesday, for fans who haven’t yet done so to purchase season tickets which we feel represent excellent value for money, given that we have reduced them from last year, as the figures below will show, even allowing for the fact that there is one game fewer.

“We hope fans understand that we are also going to be spending heavily on the ground and that with only 11 guaranteed home games in 2012 clubs in our division do not have a lot of pay days.

“As we haven’t suddenly got a pot of gold at our disposal we have to maximise income from the 11 games at Whitebank, but we re also very mindful indeed that these are not easy times for anyone and we are very appreciative of the very loyal support that so many people offer us in their many and varied ways.”
