Scott ‘pleased’ with 50-12 triumph

SCOTT Naylor had plenty of reasons to be “pleased” (his word) by the way Oldham played in a runaway win down in South Wales.

He made changes that worked well; his young side ran in ten tries; and by scoring 50 points they leapfrogged Keighley to go top of Kingstone Press League One.
Happy in his side’s start to the season (six wins from eight games in all competitions), Naylor said: “We played with efficiency, scored some nice tries and played some attractive rugby.
“We had worked on a few new things during the days leading up to the game and. of those, I liked what I saw, I really did.
“It isn’t easy travelling all that way and then getting yourself up for a game. But we handled it professionally, as demonstrated by the way we started off with four tries in the first 23 minutes.
“I made a few changes because I wanted to look at different aspects of our play.
“What it showed, I think, is that we have boys all over the squad who can come in and do just as good a job as the lads who are not playing.”
