Salford fined £10,000

Salford City Reds have been fined £10,000 by an RFL Operational Rules Tribunal after being found guilty of fielding 14 players during a Super League fixture against Castleford Tigers on Saturday April 27.

Salford were deemed to be in breach of  Operational Rules when they appeared before the Independent Tribunal in Leeds.

The incident occurred in the 77th minute of the fixture after two Salford players had entered the field from the interchange bench. One player immediately left the field of play but the other, Darrell Griffiin, was found to have interfered with play.

Salford won the match 34-30.
