Proud to be our mascot --- and a lucky one at that --- is our chairman Bill Quinn's nine-year-old son Harrison, better known throughout the club as Harry.

A popular little chap, Harrry takes his mascot duties seriously, so much so that he is always ready to lead out the team in both home and away games and if he has to miss out you can be assured it will be for a very good reason and usually one in which he doesn't have a say in the matter.

Mascots were not allowed on the occasion of our Co-operative NL2 Grand Final appearance against Featherstone at Headingley last year, but that was one of the few times Harry has not been on official duty since he took on the role midway through last season.

He couldn't get to the Salford City Reds game at The Willows earlier this season because he was in a school play at Alderley Edge that evening.

And if Harry is not on duty, for whatever reason, the Roughyeds have a habit of slipping up. Thankfully, that didn't happen at Boundary Park on Sunday, April 6 when Harry was on holiday in Dubai, but Roughyeds still managed to beat Whitehaven 16-6 in the Northern Rail Cup to progress to the last eight.

Once he is back on duty after his holiday, Harrry intends to lead Roughyeds from the front all the way to promotion this season while picking up from 'Two Bobs' and the boys one or two tips which will come in handy when he plays rugby for The Ryleys School in Alderley Edge
