Reserves postponed

The Roughyeds’ reserves team was due to open its league campaign at Leigh Centurions on Saturday, but the game has been postponed and rescheduled for an unspecified date later in the season.

Leigh called off the game because they have been unable to provide the services of a doctor on Saturday afternoon, as required by RFL regulations.

The Centurions first team will be in France on Friday to play at Toulouse Olympique in the Co-operative Championship and their regular club doctor is travelling with them. They will not be back in Leigh in time for him to be on duty at the reserves game.

That leaves Roughyeds with two games over the Easter holiday, both at first-team level. Tony Benson’s boys will take their unbeaten Co-operative Championship 1 record into the game at Spotland  against derby rivals Hornets on Good Friday (3.00pm) before they tackle Workington Town at Sedgley Park on Monday (3.00pm) in their first home league game of the season.
