Reserves news

Several sponsors have been secured for the Roughyeds reserve-team presentation night at Whitebank this Saturday, August 21, which promises to be a splendid occasion for Roughyeds fans.

Earlier in the day John Hough’s boys will be involved in a play-off tussle at either Widnes or Leigh in the Reserves Championship’s top six and just to qualify for that is a terrific achievement by Roughyeds in a division dominated by the second teams of Championship clubs.

Tickets for Saturday’s big night are available now from the Rougheds offices in Lansdowne Road, Chadderton, open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and they are on sale at £7.50 which includes a two-course buffet supper.

Houghie and his boys hope there will be a big following of fans to support them in the play-offs and then on their big night in the club — the first time the reserves have had their own presentation evening.

Sponsors are as follows: Players’ player of the year, Specsavers; Coach’s player of the year, Mark Bates and Sons of Middleton (ready mix concrete); Most improved player of the year, Premier Kia; Supporters player of the year, 7L7L; top tackler, top try scorer, Hanlon and Wright of Dukinfield, international machinery relocation engineers.

The club wishes to publicly thank all the sponsors for their support and to link with that a wish that fans will make a special effort to get behind the reserve team boys on this special occasion.
