OLDHAM Rugby League Football Club is delighted to announce that another of its major community partners, The Regenda Group, has become one of the club’s shirt sponsors for the 2014 season.
This is a ‘first’ for club and Regenda, although both have been actively working side by side for the benefit of the local community for some time.
Oldham RLFC, and its Whitebank Stadium, are focal points for Limehurst Village where Regenda, a leading North-West housing and regeneration group, is investing £5m into transforming the lives of Limehurst residents over the next ten years.
Said Oldham RLFC chairman Christopher Hamilton: “Since we moved into the Whitebank Stadium in 2010, Regenda have been fantastic community partners.
“Our partnership, over this time, has gone from strength to strength as part of Regenda’s commitment to developing the area and providing new opportunities for the people who live there.
“We are pleased to be working alongside them on many different projects. And we look forward to the continued development and growth of a partnership that has become a very important one for the club.
“Moreover, the club is proud and privileged to carry the Regenda logo on the players’ jerseys as we strive to have a successful 2014 campaign in Kingstone Press Championship One.”
One of the key community initiatives undertaken by Oldham RLFC was to instigate the birth and development of Limehurst Lions junior rugby league club, which now has more than 40 children, boys and girls, meeting and training regularly at the Whitebank Stadium.
Regenda’s Chris Standish, Limehurst Project Manager, said: “Regenda are delighted to sponsor Oldham RLFC’s new playing kit as part of a wider package of support for the club, which does a great deal of good in the local community.
“The club is a key part of the community infrastructure and we are proud sponsors because of the community outreach they do, as typified by their work with Limehurst Lions.
“Regenda believes in making Limehurst a better place. Sport is a great way for people to develop new skills and more self confidence.
“We believe in the Limehurst community, as do Oldham RLFC, and we are proud to be in partnership with the club.”
