PREDICTION LEAGUE SCORING
SYSTEM
CO-OPERATIVE NATIONAL LEAGUE 2
The competition will run
throughout the Co-operative Division 2 season proper and will not
include the play offs. The overall winner will be the person at the
end of the season who has accumulated the most points. There will
also be winners at the end of each month and stage winners. Stage 1
Games 1-7. Stage 2 Games 8-13. and Stage 3 Games 14 – 22.
Prizes will be announced
once the number of participants are known and will include match
tickets, club merchandise, season tickets and hospitality places.
I have amended the points
system for this season to try and give a wider spread of points and
reward excellence further.
Predict the winning
team 5 points
Predict a
draw 10
points
Predict the exact
score
20 points
Predict between 1&3 points
(accumulated) 10 points
Predict between 4&6 points
(accumulated)
8 points
Predict between 7&9 points
(accumulated)
6 points
Predict between 10&12
points (accumulated)
4 points
Predict between 13&15
points (accumulated)
2 points
Accumulated scores mean the
difference between your prediction and the actual scores for both
teams.
E.g.
Predicted score Oldham 36
Rochdale 12
Actual score Oldham 32
Rochdale 16.
The accumulated difference
would be 8 and you would get 11 points (5 for the winning team and 6
for the accumulated difference.)
Similarly with the same
actual score
Predicted score Oldham 40
Rochdale 8
Again the accumulated
difference would be 8 and you would also get 11 points.
It is possible to get the
result wrong and still gain points
E.g. Predicted score 14 –
10, actual score 14 – 15. (This would give you 8 points, 0 for the
result but 8 for an accumulated difference of 5).

METHODS OF ENTRY AND PREDICTING
The attached scoring system and rules will be
sent to all season ticket holders & 5 Alive members and published on
the Club website
www.roughyeds.co.uk along with an application form.
The application form can be filled in manually
and sent with a cheque for £20 made out to ORLFC to the clubs
offices (See above address) or filled in online and sent to
orlfcpredictions@yahoo.co.uk with a
cheque for £20 sent to the club offices stating your prediction
nickname and your name, address, phone number and e mail address.
If you applied by post,
once your cheque has been received you will be sent a list of
fixtures for the 22 rounds to be filled in, with your application
form stapled to the front. The same fixture list will be placed on
the website for online entries. (Suggest you put in predictions,
copy and paste them and then e-mail.)
You may make your
predictions in one of three ways: -
- Fill in all 22 sets of
predictions and return with your application form still
stapled to the front by post or by hand to ORLFC offices
by Wednesday 19 March.
- Fill in the first 11
sets with your original application form attached and return by
post or by hand to ORLFC offices by Wednesday 19 March.
The second 11 sets should be sent with
your contact details and Prediction nickname to ORLFC
offices by Monday 9 June
·
Make your predictions on a weekly basis
online by sending to
orlfcpredictions@yahoo.co.uk
(Predictions must arrive by midnight on the day before the first
game of that week’s matches, which will usually be a Thursday with
games taking place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Some weeks,
however, when a game is being televised, this will be a Wednesday).
If a game is postponed the prediction will be carried forward to
when the game is actually played. If a game is switched
because of progress in the Northern Rail competition, predictions
online should still be made as if the game was being played on the
original date and this prediction will be carried forward to when
the game is actually played. Failure to comply with these
rules will mean that week’s predictions will be null and void.
Results will be
regularly announced on the website in the local press and in the
match programme.
