THE Roughyeds’ Reserve-team squad, under John Hough, will have a pre-season bonding session tomorrow (Friday) night with a visit to the Manchester Paintball Arena, situated at the Nile Mill in Fields New Road, Chadderton.

Said to be the UK’s largest indoor paintball arena, it was voted Manchester’s best paintball site in 2009.

“We’ll be having a get-together in a different environment to rugby in order to do some team bonding and building,” said John, whose young Roughyeds second team opened up their 2010 campaign with a hefty win recently in a warm-up match at Keighley Cougars.

That game marked the arrival at the club of half-back Paul Ashton, who has been recruited as an experienced midfield operator to guide a young side around the field.

The Reserves were due to play another pre-season friendly at Hunslet tomorrow night, but fans should be reminded that Hunslet called off the game early in the week, hence the decision to take the players paintballing instead.

The next scheduled match for the Reserves is away at Dewsbury Rams next Thursday, March 25, kick-off 7.30pm.
