Our “Super Seven”

NO fewer than seven members of the Oldham Rugby League team that produced a televised thriller against Hunslet Hawks in the Kingstone Press Championship One Grand Final have been named in the latest Championship One team of the month, as selected by ‘Rugby League World’ magazine.

Hawks snatched an extra-time golden-point to win 17-16 and clinch promotion, but the judges named only five Hunslet players in their all-star line-up.

 
Team: Steven Nield (Oldham); Gavin Duffy (Hunslet), Jon Ford (Oldham), Danny Maun (Hunslet), Dale Bloomfield (Oldham); Thomas Coyle (Hunslet), Steven Roper (Oldham); Richard Moore (Hunslet), Liam Hood (Hunslet), Jason Boults (Oldham), Josh Crowley (Oldham), Danny Langtree (Oldham), Josh Tonks (York).
 
Roper, Crowley and Langtree have re-signed for Roughyeds next season, along with Kenny Hughes, David Cookson and new-boy Jarrod Ward. More signings are expected next seek.
 
Swinton Lions, who played home games in the Championship last season at Leigh Sports Village, are returning to Sedgley Park RU Club next season for home matches in the new League One.
