The second ORSA (Oldham Roughyeds’ Supporters’ Association) newsletter was circulated to supporters at the recent home game against Hornets.

Paul Whalley, who is striving hard to get the association up and running as quickly as possible, wrote as follows:

“Membership of ORSA is steadily growing and I would like to welcome new members to the fold in Brian Smith of North Wales and our first two Junior Roughyeds, Kyle Cook and Max Anderson.

“Since the last newsletter I have had the privilege of talking on Oldham Community Radio about the Oldham Roughyeds Supporters Association and about developments at the club. I would like to thank David, Gerald and the team at Oldham Community Radio for their hospitality and support. You can listen to Oldham Community Radio on 99.7FM. They provide commentary of all the Roughyeds’ home games.

“I also attended the quiz night on Tuesday, August 10 at Whitebank. It was a very enjoyable night and it raised much-needed funds for the club.

“The next meeting of the Supporters’ Association will take place on Thursday, August 26 at 8pm at the clubhouse at Whitebank Road. The agenda for the evening will be to give updates re membership, accounts and election of interim management committee. All supporters are welcome to attend.

“The Supporters’ Association will also be holding its first event on Tuesday, October 19 at the club on Whitebank Road. It will be a quiz/games night. Entry will be £10 per team of four.”

Cost of annual membership is £10 (minimum) for adults and £7.50 (minimum) for over-60s and students. Cost of annual membership for juniors is £5 (minimum).
