Anyone playing touch rugby with Oldham RLFC at Oasis Academy Oldham, Hollins Road, on Wednesday nights during August will have a chance to win two tickets for the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford.
Officials of the RFL’s Play Touch Rugby initiative will make a surprise visit to Oasis at one of the sessions this month, handing out goodies and providing players with an opportunity to win the tickets.
A taster session that was free for women and girls attracted a season’s best 18 players, with two of the new girls each scoring a cracking try.
Roughyeds Touch Rugby has won a prize of £25 in Nandos vouchers for best-post on social media, in which players can Tag and Tweet selfies and comments.
Said the club’s community coach Danny Newall: “We were also nominated for a best-picture award, but we narrowly missed out on that one,
“Several of our regulars are closing in on 14 sessions which qualifies them for a Play Touch tee-shirt.
“We are doing more advanced stuff this season and the regulars are really enjoying it.
“It would be good to see more people coming to join us and enjoying touch rugby in a fun and friendly environment.”
To play (£3 a session) turn up at Oasis shortly before 7pm on Wednesdays and speak to Danny Newall.
