NORTH Wales Crusaders have signed former Salford City Reds centre Toby Adamson ahead of Sunday’s clash with Oldham at the Glyndwr University Racecourse Stadium, kicking off at 2.30pm.

Brought up at Leigh East, 22-year-old Adamson made his Super League debut for Salford against Huddersfield Giants in 2010.

He quit the pro ranks to complete a law degree at the University of Liverpool this year, but he is now free to pick up the pieces of his rugby league career.

His brother Luke Adamson still plays for Salford.

Said Crusaders coach Clive Griffiths: “Toby trained with us this week and fitted in well. He’s a quality player with vast experience and we are delighted to have him on board.

“We will keep on looking for this type of player in order to strengthen our squad. The door is never shut. To rise up the ranks we want the best team we can possibly get.”
