Full-back Richard Lepori and centre Jon Ford fly the flag for Roughyeds in the Championship One all-stars team, selected by League Weekly.
Both have had great seasons, Richard twice representing Italy and Jon currently topping the list of the division’s try scorers with 19, and both will be key players in our play-off final against Rochdale Hornets at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday (2pm kick off).
Richard has learned that he is not in the Italian World Cup squad, despite scoring three tries against Germany and winning the man-of-the-match award against Serbia, but he now looks forward to Thursday night when he will be one of five nominees for Championship One’s Young Player of the Year award, along with his team mate Adam Files.
