Learmonth signs on loan

MICK Learmonth (20), a prop from partner club Huddersfield Giants, has joined Oldham on a month’s loan.
He is named in a provisional squad for Sunday’s League One Cup first-round tie against Coventry Bears at Whitebank (3pm) alongside Nathan Mason (21), another young front-rower from the Giants, who is here for the season.
Captain Lewis Palfrey has also thrown his hat into the ring after being cleared to start his comeback following a hernia operation.
Danny Langtree (hamstring) and Richard Joy (fractured eye socket) are ruled out of this first competitive game of the season, but Liam Thompson (shoulder) has come through and is set to play.

The second-round draw will be made live on BBC Radio Cumbria at 5pm on Sunday. Ties will be played on the weekend of March 14/15 and the final will be at Bloomfield Road, Blackpool on Saturday, May 23 as part of Summer Bash.
