LAW Cup game in doubt.

” After the third postponement yesterday of the Law Cup match against Rochdale there is now a doubt as to whether the game will take place this season.

Oldham had suggested trying again this Wed 18th but Rochdale were unable to agree and Oldham are now waiting for Rochdale to come back with an alternative date following a board meeting at Spotland tonight.

Oldham Chairman Chris Hamilton said ;-

“We are obviously disappointed, once again, that the match had to be postponed particularly when the forecast – even up to the latter part of the week – had not suggested sub zero temperatures like the ones we got.

However we cant control the weather and there was no option but to postpone when Ian Smith from the RFL came down and looked at the ground.

We are hopeful that we will be able to find an alternative date as this is an eagerly anticipated fixture against our nearest rivals so we will wait and see what happens after the Rochdale board meeting and as soon as we have any news we will let fans know.

In the meantime Tony and the team will prepare for the Seat Trophy clash against Whitehaven on Sunday and we are looking forward to that.”
