THE ORGANISERS OF JOHN KEAR’S VISIT TO OLDHAM HAVE ASKED US TO POINT OUT THAT JOHN WILL BE ATTENDING OLDHAM LIBRARY AND LIFELONG LEARNING CENTRE ON MARCH 16 AT 12PM NOT 2PM AS ORIGINALLY ADVERTISED.
LOCAL rugby league fans will have the chance to meet high-profile John Kear, top coach, leading TV pundit and League Weekly columnist, when he makes a personal appearance at Oldham Library and Lifelong Learning Centre, Greaves Street, Oldham OL1 1AL between 2pm and 3pm on Saturday, March 16.

He will be there to give advice on fitness, nutrition, food science and all things rugby league as well as to promote his book ‘John Kear: Coaching is Chaos’.
From Wembley glory to the great escape, Kear has seen it all during a lifetime in rugby league.
Born into the sport only a stone’s throw from one of its most famous venues, Kear’s remarkable rugby career has taken him from 15-year-old scoreboard operator for Castleford Tigers to team boss of both England and France.
In the book he outlines the secrets of his success as one of the most forward-thinking coaches of his generation. He records the background to his famous two Challenge Cup victories and tells for the first time the full story behind his controversial sacking at Hull.
Taking in clubs like Wigan, Wakefield, Bramley and Sheffield this is a tale marked by tragedy as well as triumph.
He is currently coach of Batley Bulldogs in the Kingstone Press Championship and is often seen on TV as a rugby league expert for both the BBC and Sky Sports.
Fans wishing to join Kear in Oldham Library should book for this free event by contacting Suzanne Hudson or Punam Ramchurn on 0161 770 8010 or 0161 770 8016 or by email to: suzanne.hudson@oldham.gov.uk
