Irish eyes are smiling for Roughyeds trio

IRISH eyes will hopefully be smiling for several Roughyeds representatives who will be on duty for the Emerald Isle in the forthcoming Alitalia European Cup.

Tony Benson will be heavily involved on the coaching and managerial side in his role as head coach Andy Kelly’s No 2, while the Irish squad includes Marcus St Hilaire, Wayne Kerr, John Gillam and Gregg McNally.

Ireland play France in Avignon on October 9; Wales in Neath on October 16; and Scotland in Dublin on October 23.

The best wishes of everyone at Roughyeds go with Tony, Marcus, Wayne, John and Gregg in their efforts to further promote Ireland’s standing on rugby league’s European map.

As has been reported previously, Jason Boults and Dave Ellison have signed new one-year Roughyeds contracts to cover 2011, but Craig Robinson has departed to join our Championship One rivals Doncaster.
