Gloucester All Golds 22 Oldham RLFC 30

WE made it three wins in a row with a hard-fought 30-22 win against Gloucester All Golds in Cheltenhem on a day when coach Scott Naylor rotated his squad to introduce on-loan Steve Roper at half-back and to recall prop Jason Boults after a two-game absence.

The All Golds have made significant strides forward in the past 12 months, so it was never going to be easy.
We led 14-6 at half-time, but each side scored three tries in the second half or 16 points apiece to produce the final scoreline of 22-30.
Jon Ford (2), Josh Crowley, Dale Bloomfield and Mo Agoro scored our tries, Mo recording the last one near the end when he dived in at the corner to extend his try-a-game sequence to four matches.
Steve Roper took over the mantle of goalkicker in the absence of Lewis Palfrey and kicked three goals from six shots. Two of those he missed were off the touchline in a tricky wind.
Coming on a day when York pulled off a shock 40-0 win against Hunslet , our win in the West Country means we are now only three points behind York and two behind Hunslet, but with a game in hand.
It would be nice to think supporters will turn up in numbers for our next match against London Skolars at Whitebank this Sunday, June 1, kick off 3pm.
