Gee on a grade CDate published: Friday, August 21, 2015
SAMMY Gee, Oldham’s vice-captain, has been charged with grade C punching following his dismissal at Newcastle.
Sent off for the first time in a semi-pro career spanning more than 100 games, 28-year-old Gee has until 11am next Tuesday (August 25) to submit an early guilty plea.
The recommended sanction for grade C offences is a ban of two to three matches, but his good record may work in his favour.
He is free to play in Sunday’s home game against Barrow as any ban would not kick in until the home game against Swinton Lions on September 6.
Thunder’s Macauley Hallet, also shown red in the same incident, is charged with a grade D punching offence, which carries a recommended ban of three to five matches.
He doesn’t have the option of an early guilty plea so he will appear before an independent disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday.
