OLDHAM Rugby League Club (1997) Ltd wish to confirm that funding is in place to clear completely the debt to HM Revenue and Customs which was the subject of a winding-up petition from HMRC, heard in the High Court last week.

A payment amounting to almost one-third of the outstanding money has already been made in accordance with the agreement between club and HMRC for the petition to be adjourned for 56 days to November 3.

“We have made a one-third payment as a sign of good faith,” said club chairman Christopher Hamilton, “but we need some legal paper work to be completed, as we had explained previously, before we pay the remainder. That’s why we were granted the adjournment.

“The whole of the money is in place. Once legal documentation is done, the bill will be paid in full. As I have said before, the club is committed to meeting its obligations in full.”
