OLDHAM RL Club’s preparations for the Championship One play-offs will include a friendly against Leigh Centurions’ academy side at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday week, September 1, kick off 12.45pm.

The Leigh side will comprise mainly of young players, but with a sprinkling of senior men who are not required for first-team duty that day.

Admission prices and other relevant information will be announced early next week.
The friendly, approved by the RFL, will be a curtain-raiser to the Leigh v Dewsbury game.
Oldham skipper Lewis Palfrey (stand-off) and his team mate Danny Langtree (second row) are named in the Championship One team of the week.
The division’s player of the week is London Skolars scrum-half Dylan Skee, who will be a key figure in the crucial clash in North London tonight against North Wales Crusaders.
If Crusaders lose by more than 12 points Oldham will be crowned champions and will win automatic promotion to the next tier up.
Any other result and the title will depend on the outcome of the North Wales v South Wales showdown in Wrexham on September 1.
Said Crusaders boss Clive Griffiths: “Take a deep breath. We’ve got to get something out of this game.
“Skolars will be a tough nut to crack, but we can’t come away without a point.”
Seeking their third win in a row and hoping to move above Rochdale into third place, Skolars expect to be unchanged from the side that smashed Hemel Stags 40-18 in Hertfordshire last Sunday.
