Fordy comes “home” againDate published: Thursday, July 23, 2015
Roughyeds have moved quickly to, once again, secure the services of centre Jon Ford from Salford Red Devils.
This is Fords fifth spell with the club and following the end of his previous loan spell with the club following him injuring a finger the free scoring centre welcomed a return to the club that has become his second home over recent seasons.
With the transfer deadline looming large on Friday 24th July the Roughyeds moved quickly to again secure his services on loan until the end of the season.
Head Coach Scott Naylor said “we know all about Jon’s strengths from his previous spells with us and it says a lot about the club and the environment that once he was fit again following his recent injury Jon wanted to be back playing again and if that wasn’t to be with Salford then he wanted to come back to Oldham.
He will provide added competition for places as we approach some very important matches and the added bonus is that we don’t need to spend any time with him integrating him into our systems and patterns as he is already up to speed with everything.
Ford is expected to come straight into the reckoning for Sundays big clash against North Wales Crusaders
