Dewsbury 50 Oldham Reserves 16

DESPITE a try and two goals by half-back Jamie Dallimore and further tries by winger Lewis Brookes and prop Danny Langtree — his third in two games — Roughyeds Reserves were beaten 50-16 at Dewsbury on Friday night.

Loose-forward Alex Thompson damaged a thigh muscle in the warm-up and this resulted in late changes involving Scott Mansfield’s move from bench to the back of the pack and the call-up to the bench of Austen Barrowclough, who was there as 18th man.

“This caused some disruption,” said coach John Hough, “but it was, nevertheless, an extremely disappointing performance. Dewsbury overpowered us in the forwards and that’s something we will have to address.

“I will be looking for a big improvement when we play Halifax at Whitebank on Thursday night. I will be looking for a massive reaction.”

Team: Nield; Bridge, Williams, Headen, Brookes; Connick, Dallimore; Crosby, B Robinson, Langtree, Ward, Dean, Mansfield. Subs: Barrowclough, Cadd, Bland, Barber.
