Oldham have lost a second player to Championship club Batley Bulldogs, with hooker or half-back Danny Whitmore following Miles Greenwood to Mount Pleasant.
The former Waterhead youngster goes after two seasons with his home-town club, which he joined from Salford City Reds where he played at academy level with new Roughyeds boss Scott Naylor as one of his coaches.
“It’s a shame he’s going,” said Naylor. “I coached him at Salford and I was looking forward to coaching him again.”
John Clough, who was also at Salford earlier in his career, is the only other current Oldham player to have been previously coached by the new Roughyeds boss.
