Rugby League fans are guaranteed a day to remember when Leigh Sports Village hosts a spectacular Kingstone Press Championships Finals Day this coming Sunday, September 29.

As well as three high intensity matches, including the title-deciding Kingstone Press Championship Grand Final, the day features a host of activities and events designed to keep the whole family entertained.

The Finals Day has long been a notable date in the sport’s calendar but from this year there will be an even bigger sense of occasion around the event, which has developed into a famous celebration of Championships Rugby League.

Playing standards in the Kingstone Press Championships have scaled new heights in 2013 as a new sponsor and a new-look competition featuring three new clubs have given a bold and exciting dimension to both divisions.

“There is a real sense of anticipation about the Championships play-offs this year and everything points to a Finals Day that all Rugby League fans will want to experience,” said RFL Chief Operating Officer Ralph Rimmer.

“Kingstone Press have been terrific sponsors this year and have been very active thopughout the season in their promotion of both competitions.

“Just as the Challenge Cup final has become a day to celebrate Rugby League at Wembley, I’m sure that supporters of every Kingstone Press Championship and Championship One club will be there to mark a great year for the competition.”

The family fun will centre on the Kingstone Press Fan Zone at the front of Leigh Sports Village where supporters of all ages can prove themselves with a series of Rugby League Skills.

There will also be face painting, balloon modelling, bouncy castles and a special visit from the Rugby League World Cup trophy, with which fans can have their photograph taken.

The Finals Day will also see Kingstone Press crown their King of Fans, the winner of a season-long search for the competitions’ most dedicated supporter.

Kingstone Press Cider Managing Director Gordon Johncox said: “We want to create something special for the loyal fans as they spend all season supporting their clubs and sharing in the highs and the lows.

“Finals Day is a chance for fans from all clubs to some together to show their support for the sport. We want to give the Championships something to look forward to at the end of the season.

“For us this year has been an incredible introduction to the sport and we’ve been overwhelmed by the support clubs and fans have shown us. This is our chance to give something back to the fans and make Finals Day 2013 a day to remember.”

For those who can’t make it on the day, Kingstone Press will be utilising social media networks to serve up all the action and atmosphere from the day. Look out for competitions on Twitter @KingstoneCider and Facebook.com/KingstonePressCider.
