Oldham close in on two signings

OLDHAM RL appear to be closing in on two signings ahead of Sunday’s home game against Whitehaven.
“Hopefully, things could be happening later today and again tomorrow,” said chairman Chris Hamilton.
The injury crisis at Whitebank, which has claimed a dozen victims, has caused the postponement of tonight’s reserve-team game at York.
It’s the first time in the new Oldham club’s 15-year existence that Roughyeds have had to call off a match due to an injury pile-up.

Roden on the mend

NEIL Roden can see light at the end of the tunnel in his bid to regain full fitness after a serious thigh-muscle injury.
It’s five weeks and four games since the 31-year-old Oldham RL captain suffered a four-inch tear in the muscle at Rochdale on Good Friday.

Home debut for Holdroyd

MASTER craftsman Graham Holroyd is set to make his home debut for Oldham RL Club tomorrow.

The 36-year-old midfield maestro, a short-term replacement for injured skipper Neil Roden, played in the draw at London Skolars a fortnight ago but missed the cup-tie at St Helens because of a slight ankle strain.

Fully recovered now, he will experience Whitebank and its pronounced slope for the first time in the game against Clive Griffiths’s Wrexham-based North Wales Crusaders (3pm kick-off). Continue Reading
