Bibby’s loan spell endsDate published: Wednesday, March 16, 2016
HIS month’s loan period having expired, young centre Jake Bibby has left Oldham RL to return to Salford Red Devils.
Bibby (19), a full-time pro, played against Dewsbury Rams at Bower Fold and against Featherstone Rovers and Workington Town away.
A fourth game during the month, Bradford Bulls at Bower Fold, was postponed because of a snow-covered pitch.
Said coach Scott Naylor: “The agreement was for Jake to come for a month in order to get game time.
“His month is up so, as agreed, he now goes back to Salford as a full-time member of their first-team squad, having had three games for us at Championship level.”
Lewis Palfrey (thigh), Danny Langtree (thigh), Adam Clay (groin) and Will Hope (shoulder) didn’t train last night because of injuries picked up in the 23-12 loss at Workington.
They will be assessed again tomorrow night, ahead of Sunday’s fourth-round Ladbrokes Challenge Cup tie against Cumbrian amateurs Kells at Bower Fold (3pm).
New signing Gary Middlehurst, who made his debut at Derwent Park, is eligible to play against Kells, but his former North Wales Crusaders team mate Joe Burke, Naylor’s latest addition to his squad, is cup-tied.
