Agreement with HMRC

A winding-up petition by HMRC against Oldham Rugby League Football Club (1997) Ltd was due to be heard today (Wednesday) in the High Court in London.

The club has reached agreement with HMRC to once again pay its debts in full, but club chairman Christopher Hamilton was due to be present in the High Court when the petition was presented in order to formally request an adjournment —- already agreed with HMRC out of court — to enable legal paper work to be completed.

Said Mr Hamilton: “While this has been a traumatic time, as ever, we have remained committed to meeting our obligations and we are now looking forward to a future at Whitebank Stadium with renewed confidence and optimism.

“There is a lot of hard work to be done but, having overcome this latest hurdle, we are looking ahead optimistically to what we hope will be a successful end to an already tremendous 2010 campaign.”
