The Roughyeds injury jinx may have struck again. Robert Roberts, who
has been playing with a hand injury, had it checked out at hospital
yesterday and he has been told he must go back again tomorrow for a
bone scan.
The fear is that he may have broken the scaphoid, which would mean a
few weeks out of action for the Roughyeds' in-form captain.
Simon Baldwin and Matty Brooks, who have knee injuries, are booked
in to see a consultant next Tuesday.
Preparations for the visit of York City Knights to Boundary Park on
Sunday (3pm) start in earnest tonight when the players report back
for training after being given a night off last night following two
games in four days over Easter.
Coach Steve Deakin thought he was going to have 20 players to choose
from, but in view of the latest news on 'Two Bobs' it looks likely
that his numbers will be reduced to 19.
The Knights have lost each of their two league games to date, at
home to Gateshead and away at Barrow.
