David Ford
the popular and much collected Saddleworth water colourist sat in
the middle of the Watersheddings pitch over 10 years ago, just days
before the place was demolished, and made a sketch of the old
Hutchins Stand and "penny or threepenny rush" (depending on your
age.) He recently came across the sketch and decided to do an
original watercolour titled "Sunset over Watersheddings" for this
year's Doctor Kershaw's calendar. David's calendars, featuring his
original watercolours, have been a major fund raiser for Dr
Kershaw’s over the last few years raising tens
of thousands of pounds. When David heard of the Roughyeds official
endorsement of Dr Kershaw’s as their charity he decided to offer the
club signed limited edition prints of "Sunset over Watersheddings".
Receipts from the sale will go to the club.
Unframed
signed limited edition prints are £20 each & framed, double mounted
signed limited edition prints £60.
Nigel Marland
has bought the original and agreed that it can be used for limited
edition prints for this Christmas. Orders can be made at the club
offices on Lansdowne Rd, Chadderton, 0161 628 3677 with cheques made
out to ORLFC. Please state whether you want the framed or unframed
version. The limited edition will depend on the number ordered and
will be signed by David Ford in person with 1/ ? by the side
depending on the number of orders. It would be appreciated if orders
are in before end of November to facilitate delivery for Christmas.
Surely a
brilliant Christmas present for any Roughyed fan?
