Ward on grade C charge

MICHAEL Ward, Oldham’s tackle-busting prop, faces the prospect of a two-match ban for the alleged use of his elbow in last Sunday’s relegation battle with Workington Town at Bower Fold.

He faces a grade C charge following an incident eight minutes from the end when Roughyeds, trailing by two points, were attacking strongly in pursuit of the winning try.

Two Bobs’ to lead Summer Coaching at Whitebank

FORMER Oldham RL star Robert Roberts , known all over rugby league land as ‘Two Bobs’, is the Roughyeds’ new community coach, succeeding Danny Newall, who left to take up a new appointment with his hometown club, Widnes Vikings.

Clay a victim too

RICHARD Lepori, with a badly-gashed hand, wasn’t the only injury victim in Oldham’s fiercely-fought Championship relegation battle with Workington Town.

It has since emerged that Adam Clay suffered a grade-two tear in a shoulder when tackled heavily by Town’s star man Jarrod Sammut early in the second half.
