Wood, Leeming in Giants squad

DUAL-REG duo Sam Wood and Kruise Leeming, who played key roles in Oldham’s 26-18 win against Whitehaven, have been called up to Huddersfield Giants’ 19-man squad for tonight’s televised Super League clash with table-topping Hull FC.

Darnell McIntosh, who played full-back for Roughyeds at Dewsbury on June 12, is also included as caretaker boss Andy Kelly readjusts to replace the injured Scott Grix and Joe Wardle and the suspended Danny Brough.

More problems for unlucky Jack

OLDHAM prop Jack Spencer’s injury-ravaged season has taken another turn for the worst.

He suffered a recurrence of shoulder trouble against Whitehaven, in his first game for eight weeks, and he has now been told he could be out for another month.

New-boy Gill out to impress

KIERAN Gill, Oldham RL Club’s new signing from Castleford Tigers, is keen to impress while playing on loan for the Roughyeds.

He celebrated his first try for the club in Sunday’s 26-18 win against Whitehaven with a clenched-fist salute to supporters and said afterwards he hoped to score a lot more tries while helping Oldham to climb out of relegation danger.

SCOTT Naylor is calling on his Oldham players to take heart from their gutsy 26-18 win against relegation rivals Whitehaven and kick-on to start winning away from home as well as at Bower Fold.
