2010 Statistics

END-OF-SEASON statistics for Roughyeds in 2010 throw up the remarkable fact that no fewer than six players turned out in each of the club’s 28 games in cup and league.

To boast half a dozen ever-presents over a season is almost certainly a record in itself, but on top of that Wayne Kerr and Ben Heaton missed only one game, Jason Boults missed only two and Danny Whitmore was absent only three times.

The six 100 per centers were Paul O’Connor, Lucas Onyango, Mick Fogerty, Martin Roden, Dave Ellison and Joe Chandler — and how unique is it for the three front-line props, Ellison, Kerr and Boults to miss only three games all season between them and, moreover, to score a total of 19 tries?

The full list, with tries in brackets, is as follows:

O’Connor 28 (19), Onyango 28 (19), Fogerty 28 (19), M Roden 28 (2), Ellison 28 (7), Chandler 28 (12), Kerr 27 (6), Heaton 27 (6), Boults 26 (6), Whitmore 25 (5), Ashe 22 (8), Clarke 22 (6), N Roden 21 (4), St Hilaire 21 (3), Gillam 19 (16), Bentley 16 (3), Robinson 13 (1), Hodson 12 (0), McNally 12 (7), Sutton 9 (1), Brocklehurst 9 (6), Reilly 6 (1), Saqib 5 (2), Mansfield 4 (0), I’Anson 4 (0), Littler 3 (1), Mellor 3 (0), Walker 2 (0).

In addition Matty Ashe kicked 78 goals, Gregg McNally kicked 46, Paul O’Connor kicked 5 and Neil Roden (2) and McNally (1) landed drop goals.
