Former Oldham winger Bob Batten died on
the 11th of April aged 81. A former miner, he lived in
Hornsea.
The funeral is for close friends and
relatives only.
The son of the famous rugby league star
Billy Batten he had the distinction of being the club's
leading try scorer season 48/49 with the surprisingly low
tally of 9 touchdowns. He played 89 first team matches
between seasons 48-49 and 50/51 scoring 29 tries.
