Oldham today announced the signing of an old favourite, Swinton’s unsettled Ian Hodson.

Ian first arrived at Roughyeds on loan from Swinton midway through the 2005 season. He played in 15 games that season, mainly second-row, and signed permanently for 2006 when he was one of the squad's best and most consistent performers in a difficult campaign that ended in relegation to NL2. Another consistant season with the Roughyeds followed until his departure to rejoin the Lions.
In his previous stint at the club he showed his versatility by turning out at prop, second-row, loose-forward and even stand-off. Many fans could not understand why he was not retained and will be glad to see him back in the fold.
