Play up, Royton! Punters from that area of town scooped first and second prizes in today's weekly Roughyeds' Club Cash lottery draw with Colin Clarke taking the £300 and Mrs Y Jackson winning the £100.

Full details were as follows: £300, Colin Clarke of Royton (A3738); £100, Mrs Jackson of Royton (A8856).

One of the five £10 runners-up winners was also from Royton, namely D N Taylor (A7762). The others were Ann Pike of Hyde (B9593); D Himsworth of Chadderton (A1847); Tommy Harrop of The Old Original (A7119); and D Selby of Chadderton (A6489).

Royton may have come off best this week, but we regularly have winners in all areas of the borough and even further afield -- once as far off as New Zealand. We have collectors and agents covering the town from Royton at one end to Bardsley at the other and also from Moorside and High Crompton all the way down to Failsworth.

If you are a Roughyeds fan and if you want to see the club and team progress up the rugby league ladder then why not join one of our two lotteries, Club Cash or Five Alive. Ring the club for more information on 0161 628 3677 or refer to the match-day programme or to our website at www.roughyeds.co.uk

By the way, the Co-operative NL2 league season kicks off soon and our first home match is on Easter Monday at Boundary Park (3pm kick off) against Hunslet Hawks. Before then we play Swinton at Sedgley Park, Whitefield this Sunday in the Northern Rail Cup (3pm) and Rochdale Hornets at Spotland on Good Friday (3pm) in the opening game of the NL2 campaign.

But make a note in your diary of our first HOME game in NL2 --- Easter Monday, March 24, v Hunslet Hawks (3pm kick off). We've even got an international tenor lined up to entertain you before the match. More details later.
