THERE was better news on club captain Robert Roberts coming out of the Roughyeds camp today following his latest visit to hospital earlier in the week

As most fans already know, 'Two Bobs' has had his hand in plaster for the best part of a week now while the medical people decide what will be the best course of action to sort out a fracture to a small bone near a knuckle.

He was back at hospital this week and the good news is that he has been told he may not need an operation. He has to go back for yet another visit next week when they may remove the plaster.

"The best news is that they don't think 'Two Bobs' will need surgery," said chief executive Chris Hamilton. "We still don't have a conclusive verdict, but if all goes well it could be sorted out in a couple of weeks."

Mattty Brooks and Simon Baldwin have had minor knee operations and if all goes according to plan they should be back in the not-too-distant future.

Lee Wingfield is another who is "not far off", while Lucas Onyango starts his long haul back in the reserves team against Rochdale Hornets at Sedgley Park this evening (7.30pm kick off).
