G Molloy of Springhead and L Binns of Clarksfield each won a monthly jackpot prize in this week's Roughyeds' Club Cash lottery, which took place on Friday.

The lucky punter from Springhead (A0544) won the mini-holiday courtesy of Travelcare, while L Binns (A3461) pick up the second jackpot prize of a meal for two.

Paul Taylor of Chadderton (B8204) landed the first prize of £300 in the weekly draw, while Mr Barnes of Failsworth (B2010) carried off the weekly second prize of £100.

The five £10 runners-up winners were Mark Atkinson of Chadderton (A6830), Mrs Trennery of Derker (C8101), B Parker of Chadderton (A4060), K Wolfenden, c/o Church Inn (C9532) and Gillian Holt of Oldham (B2636).

Meanwhile, about 50 members of the club's other lottery, Five Alive, sat down to lunch at Mario's, Yorkshire Street on Friday and enjoyed a delightful meal, followed by a questions-and-answers session with the club captain Robert 'Two Bobs' Roberts. At the end of the session, in which 'Two Bobs' answered a wide range of questions about himself, his role of captain, his career and the best players he had played with and against, he was given warm applause. Also present were the club's chief executive Chris Hamilton and the head coach, Steve Deakin.

Earlier, one of the members, Laurence Perrins, paid tribute to John Etty, a member of Oldham's legendary 1950s side, and read extracts from a newspaper report which told us that John, one of the many war-time Bevin Boys, had recently been a guest of the Prime Minister in London where presentations took place to honour the work of the Bevin Boys in the country's coalfields during the Second World War.

A raffle for two places in the hospitality suite at Sunday's Northern Rail Cup knock-out clash with NL1 side Whitehaven at Boundary Park, including pre-match meal with table wine, was won by David Lord.

The quarterly lunch is one of only several benefits afforded to Five Alive members who pay £5 a week to the club and, among other things, have a chance to win £500 every month. The latest winner was Roy Wood.

There are currently around 85 members in Five Alive and club officials would like to take it past the 100 mark. For more information, or for details of how to join, please ring the club on 0161 628 3677; refer to the club's lottery adverts in the match-day programme at Boundary Park on Sunday; ask for help from any club official; or go to the Club Cash link on the club's official website at www.roughyeds.co.uk
